You'll never guess what I'm doing today. XD
I got a new printer for Christmas so I've been breaking it in.
Now I have to cut them apart, glue them together, press them in a book and wait about four hours, cut them out again, laminate them and cut them out a final time. It usually takes me about half an hour of total work to finish a bookmark.
I've got three new bookmarks there that I haven't sold online yet, including blue bettas, red bettas, and January bookmarks. I also just made some Elbow ones since that picture was really popular. Once I finish making them today I'll be adding them to my Etsy store. [link]

Just some QUICK info on the costume:

-The hoodie (which began as an XXL hoodie, was dyed, and then deconstructed and resewn together with dual seamlines stitched into the front and back and a new front pocket) is painted with blue fabric paints, a fabric pen, brushed on 3D glitter paint, and touches of white acrylic paint that were brushed and patted on for the frost effects.

-The pants (someone thought I didn't make them... PSH LOOK AT HOW ODDLY THEY FIT. Of course I did), were sewn together from a pattern I'd recommend to no one ever and then dry-brushed with brown acrylic paints and more of the blue fabric paint and glitter 3D paints from the hoodie.

-My staff was made from pvc pipes and styrofoam tubes (found those at Hobby Lobby) and then covered in model magic (and scored with a butter knife for the wood grain) and dry brushed with acrylic paints and glitter.

-The wig was styled with Got2BGlued and a little Got2BGlued flexible gum (it's a hair glue, not a gel) and came from Amphigory- you can find a link to the base wig in the wig progress photo in my Jack gallery. Just know that it required a lot of cutting!

Since :iconmutatingraven: just posted this on her dA, I figured I'd do the same. As some of you may or may not know, we are losing our amazing friend to the city of LA. She is moving on to bigger and brighter things, which I hope will help keep her love for animation growing. Raven has been in my life for almost 10 years and she has taught me much over that time...most of it positive ;)

We will miss her so, but wish her all the luck in her new journey working at Cartoon Network. This was taken yesterday at her going-away party. Since there was a bunch of us ol' "aka-ers", we decided on a group shot. Not all of us of course, but whoever made it out yesterday.

Pictured:

(Top Row) Ruth Vincent, Zoe Borroz, Sherann Johnson, Sabrina Alberghetti (me), Corey Toomey, Jayson Theissen, John Young

(Bottom Row) Big Jim Miller, Samuel Vincent, Raven Molisee, Scott Diggs Underwood, Daniel Soui

As this industry is fairly small, I'm sure we'll be working together again the future, and look forward to it :)

“His soul sat up. It met me. Those kinds of souls always do - the best ones. The ones who rise up and say "I know who you are and I am ready. Not that I want to go, of course, but I will come." Those souls are always light because more of them have been put out. More of them have already found their way to other places.”
~ Markus Zusak, The Book Thief~

Sometime you discover some interesting things AFTER you take a photo. When I was shooting tigers, they were very interested in a dragonfly which was flying around them. When I got home and browsed through photos, I found that without noticing, I captured a moment when a tiger and a dragonfly had a face to face session.
