Last Thursday, I went to do a job across the street from the beach front. Around 11am, I was packing my equipment away when I looked down the street and saw a thick mist rolling in from the sea, enveloping the road. I realized it was all around me, but I could only see it at a distance.
It was quite magical, ethereal even. Like a siren, it lured me across the road to the beach, where I could see the mist lying over the sea like a blanket, slowly moving towards me. I decided the only sensible thing to do in such conditions was to go on a treasure hunt.
In this photo are the treasures I found. There are wild flowers, a muscle shell (has the pink flowers coming out of it), a piece of driftwood, a shell with barnacles on it, and the last item I found - a red rock.
Don't know that it is the world's greatest still life, but a memento of my 'mist'ical experience in any case.
Ha ha, didn't smell that great. Those little white flowers are called onion weed, cos they smell like onions. I also prepped the stone and shell for photographing, using avocado oil infused with garlic.
