"Crash Bandicoot has been Sony's favorite child two years running, but little Mr. Purple Power proves there's a new kid on the block. Spyro the Dragon, from Insomniac Games, is simply breathtaking, with more colors than even Crayola could imagine. But how's the gameplay? Game Informer rips Spyro apart, and gives you all the goods on this surefire PlayStation smash."

Well that quote form the table of contents pretty much explains this review of Spyro the Dragon in the September 1998 issue of Game Informer. The article is even in the shape of a portal! Genius! This is a really good review of the game. If you want to read it (of course you do) I suggest you download it and zoom in. I will submit a clearer picture of the screenshots in the center as well, so don't worry. And once again, I can't take any credit for any of this but the photo. Also, I forgot to mention two things that I found interesting in this issue. There is a short article about the PS2, titled "Sony Spills The Beans on PlayStation 2", as well as an article about Sega's name not being on its last attempt at a console, the Sega Dreamcast.
The final score for the game was 9.5 / 10. (yes!)
