It took me too long to figure out how to manually set my camera to get these to not be horribly washed out, so I think I'm going to have to experiment more with night photography in the future.
I do not mind, however, because this picture turned out perfectly!
My images from the Beppu Sentoumyou festival (1,000 candles, I believe) in Beppu Park. At night, the candles were all lit, and the park began to glow like a fairy land with thousands of lanterns made by local school children, as well as a few larger art installations by contemporary artists in the area.
