Cappadocia - Turkey is a historical region in Anatolia, known primarily of the characteristic forms of tufa, forming a lunar landscape and the houses and churches carved into the tufa rock. Cappadocia until the Middle Ages was an important center of Christianity and the birthplace of the idea of monastic life.
