Bog pine under moonlight

Great views of the Takitimu Mountains. Brown Peak, Clare Peak and Mount Hamilton all prominent high points of the Taki's well lit up during the last few minutes of sunset. Luckily I didn't need to level the shot since the peaks at the right side of the shot are closer than those in the distance.
This particular area is good for both sunrise and sunsets and only a 20 minute drive from Te Anau towards Mossburn. The Wilderness Scientific Reserve in Fiordland National Park protects New Zealand’s best surviving remnant of bog pine (Halocarpus bidwillii).
